As we are all aware, there was a really dangerous pet food crisis a couple of months ago where dog food was inadvertently supplemented with some dangerous cheicals and many dogs died. This was a problem a few months ago but the problem really has not gone away.

The problem that we all dealt with was a unneeded addition of melamine in China to dog food but that is not the only problem. two years ago there was another crisis in pet food that killed pets and just last week there was another case of acetominophen being found in pet food. So I am not sure that we any closer to turning the corner in protecting our pets.

Really, if we want to treat our pets better it is best not just ot buy some food at the supermarket but instead be informed as to what is best for our dogs and cats to eat to stay healthy.

I have just run across a great book that will teach you not only what to do to protect your dog or cat from bad or dangerous pet foods but will also teach you what your pet needs and what to give to your pet for food.

Dog Food Secrets is an interesting book as it was written not by just a doctor but actually by someone that had a dog that died from the dog food that his dog was eating.
