Getting Things Done
I was going to throw this book in the business books but I really believe that it is self help. Getting Things done is a great book about looking at all of the things in your life and rebuilding what is important and really having a process of living your life instead of a big to do list. David Allen is a bit of a cult phenomenon with his idea that your brain is a big computer and the more stuff you have to remember the more slowly you can work, David Allen looks at your mind like RAM in a computer and I just love that analogy.
Gettin things done is broken into a few sections. There is an outline section, and then chapters based on the idea of getting stuff together, creating buckets of information, finishing anything that will take 10 minutes or less, creating projects, getting control of your time….you get the picture
Anyway Getting Things Done is great in the way that it starts with the mess that is your lfe and slowly but very organizingly, David Allen starts pulling all of those ideas out of your head and before you know it your life has a great semblance of order.
This is a must read book for anyone having a lot of trouble getting those mundane things done as well as not being able to get the higher level projects finished that you have always been having trouble just getting started.
