Jack:Straight From The Gut by Jack Welch is a great book. What I expected from it was a biography of the esteemed former leader of GE but instead he highlights the most important parts of his biography and adds some of his very capable business attitude. In reading this book the first time I was strck by how this books seems to be a bit disjointed but still sorked for me. The second time I flipped through I realized that the way I read was by looking for what I wanted to see and glossing over what did not interest me.
Jack Welch has since written another book called Winning and had some scandals in his personal life but this book should really stand up for years to come as a guide to how GE went from a successful appliance manufacturer to being a diversified economic powerhouse under Jack Welch.
